Landscape Technician – Planting & Maintenance Crew
We’re currently seeking enthusiastic and hardworking individuals to join our Planting & Maintenance Crew as Landscape Technicians. If you have a passion for landscaping and enjoy working in a collaborative, positive team environment, we’d love to hear from you!
Key Requirements:
- Enjoy and thrive within a fast paced (and sometimes stressful!) environment, working outdoors in various conditions with flexible availability.
- Have Landscape & Horticulture education, training and/or equivalent working experience.
- Have experience with seasonal decorative planting arrangements.
- Currently have a valid “G” driver License and are comfortable using larger vehicles, drive and navigate throughout the downtown core.
- Have a familiarity with landscape maintenance tools and equipment.
- Are self motivated, punctual, with a positive work ethic.
- This is a full-time seasonal position that entails (approximately) 50 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
- Installation of decorative plantings and arrangements in beds, planters and containers at various commercial and multi-unit sites.
- Landscape maintenance of various properties (commercial and residential)
- Maintenance duties include: turf management, bed and plant material care, mulch and soil applications, pruning, weeding, cultivating, watering, debris cleanup and disposal – with the administration of sustainable/organic land care practices.
- Softscape landscaping: planting, transplanting, loading/transport of nursery stock, reading and carrying out plans for designated projects.
- Watering various properties throughout the downtown core; along with the watering, care and preparation of plant material held at the company shop.
Position Details:
- Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal
- Contract length: 8 months
- Pay: $19.00-$25.00 per hour based on experience
- Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
- Schedule: 8-10 hour shifts, Monday to Friday
- Ability to commute/relocate

Landscape Technician – Build Crew
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Landscape Technician – Build Crew Member to join our team. You’ll work closely with a crew leader and team members and will be responsible for performing a variety of work tasks to assist with the completion of landscape construction projects. This is a hands-on position that requires physical labor, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years experience in construction.
- Capable of operating construction equipment (stone saws, compactors, skid steer).
- Able to meet the physical demands of the job.
- Able to work long hours.
- Driver’s license and clean driving record.
- First Aid/CPR certification is an asset.
- Ability to read landscape designs/plans is a plus.
- Familiarity with planting best practices is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Work safely and in a responsible manner, with eager participation and initiative.

- Active participation in regular team meetings.
- Comply with all company policies and regulations and local health and safety regulations.

Landscape Technician – Interior Crew (Part Time)
Urban Garden is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Interior Landscape Technician to join our team on a part-time basis (3–4 days per week, approximately 24–36 hours). This role involves maintaining and installing indoor plant displays in commercial and corporate environments, ensuring each space reflects our high standards of care and aesthetics.
Key Requirements:
- Extensive knowledge of interior and tropical plant species, including best practices for installation, maintenance, and care in commercial and office environments.
- Valid G Driver’s License and a clean Driver’s Abstract, with the capability to safely operate larger vehicles throughout the city and GTA (requirement).
- Strong client communication skills and excellent organizational abilities.
- Professional demeanor with the ability to represent the company respectfully in corporate office settings.
- Able to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team, with a strong focus on adhering to schedules and completing tasks efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Under the direction of the Interior Division Manager, perform ongoing maintenance and installations for Urban Garden’s interior plant division, servicing commercial offices, lobbies, and other corporate spaces.
- Conduct weekly or bi-weekly site visits to manage all aspects of interior plant care, including fertilization, pest and disease control, cleaning, water monitoring, planting, and transplanting. Ensure all sites are consistently well-maintained and plant material remains healthy and visually appealing.
- Assist with plant procurement, nursery pickups, and deliveries as needed.
- Identify and report any site deficiencies, liaise with property managers and building staff, and take initiative to resolve interior landscape concerns promptly and professionally.
- Contribute to new projects through participation in design development, and implementation of creative planting installations for both new and existing clients.
Position Details:
- Part-Time: 3–4 days per week (24–36 hours/week)
- Pay: $19.00 – $22.00 per hour, based on experience

- Expected hours: 24 – 36 per week
